8,732 clips of urban sounds like car horns, dog barks, and construction noise.
UrbanSound8K is an audio dataset containing 8,732 labeled sound excerpts of urban noises, including sirens, drilling, engine idling, and street music. Created by researchers at New York University, the dataset is organized into ten sound classes and includes metadata such as recording location and time. The audio clips are extracted from longer field recordings of urban environments.
Urbansound8k Is Commonly Used For Research In Urban Sound Classification And Acoustic Scene Analysis. It Helps Train Models That Detect And Classify Environmental Sounds In Real-world City Settings. The Dataset Is Valuable For Developing Noise Monitoring Systems, Smart City Applications, And Context-aware Audio Recognition Models.
