The Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) is an educational management information system that serves as a central platform enabling schools to efficiently record and submit data on their profile (infrastructure and facilities), as well as individual details of students and teachers. It covers both public and private schools across India, capturing enrolment, dropout rates, teacher qualifications, classroom availability, drinking water, sanitation, and digital infrastructure. UDISE+ provides a comprehensive, school-level database that supports monitoring of the Right to Education Act and other educational policies.
Researchers Use Udise+ Data To Analyse Student Enrolment Trends, Retention And Dropout Rates, Pupil-teacher Ratios, Gender And Social Category Disparities In School Access, And The Availability Of Basic Infrastructure (E.g., Toilets, Electricity, Computers). They Also Study Teacher Distribution, Assess The Impact Of Government Schemes Like Samagra Shiksha On School Outcomes, Evaluate Inter-state And Rural-urban Differences In Educational Inputs, And Model The Relationship Between School Facilities And Learning Achievement.
