Purpose of Dataset

The primary purpose of this Regulation is to lay down the standards to maintain distribution system and supply parameters within the permissible limits. These Regulations shall serve as benchmark for distribution licensees/franchisee for providing an efficient reliable, co-ordinated and economical system of electrical distribution. It lays the right of consumer to have minimum standards of service for supply of electricity from the distribution licensee. It establishes clear, measurable benchmarks for essential operations such as restoring power, rectifying billing errors, and releasing new connections. To protect consumer rights, the framework legalizes a compensation mechanism whenever a utility fails to meet Guaranteed Standards of Performance. Additionally, it sets up an active centralized grievance tracking structure to ensure transparent monitoring, processing, and resolution of all service defaults.
