The information on time use was collected for persons of age 6 years and above from the households during January - December 2024. The survey has measured participation and time spent by the persons in paid activities, unpaid caregiving activities, unpaid volunteer work, unpaid domestic service producing activities, leaming, socializing. leisure activities, self-care activities, etc.
This Time Use Survey (TUS), conducted from January to December 2024, collected detailed information on how individuals aged six years and above allocate their time across various activities. It measures participation and time spent in paid work, unpaid caregiving (e.g., caring for children, elderly, or disabled family members), unpaid volunteer work, unpaid domestic services (e.g., cooking, cleaning, household maintenance), learning (formal and informal education), socializing and leisure, self-care (sleeping, resting, personal hygiene), and other related activities. The survey provides a comprehensive, nationally representative picture of daily time allocation, capturing both economic and non-economic productive activities often excluded from traditional labour force statistics.
Purpose Of This Data To Measure The Full Extent Of Paid And Unpaid Work, Including The Value Of Domestic And Caregiving Contributions Often Invisible In Gdp; Analyze Gender Disparities In Time Use; Study The Balance Between Work, Learning, Leisure, And Self-care Across Different Age Groups, Regions, And Socioeconomic Strata; Assess The Impact Of Policies (E.g., Childcare Support, Wage Changes) On Time Allocation; And Understand How Time Poverty Affects Well-being, Labour Supply, And Human Capital Development.
