Swachhata Samachar August 2024

About Dataset

The August 2024 issue of Swachhata Samachar provides a structured account of developments under Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen and related rural WASH efforts. Its coverage focuses on Swachhata Pakhwada, cleanliness, sanitation awareness, waste management and public participation. The newsletter brings together programme updates, field-level activities, awareness campaigns, community initiatives and examples of implementation from different parts of India. It reflects the mission’s emphasis on sustainable sanitation, maintenance of sanitation assets, responsible waste management and lasting behaviour change. Where relevant, it records Swachhata Pakhwada or Swachhata Hi Seva activities, public participation, cleanliness drives, educational outreach and initiatives involving local institutions, women, youth and community groups. The series also serves as a repository of practical experiences and good practices that can support learning and replication. Together, these features make the newsletter useful for understanding evolving priorities, implementation approaches and community-led actions associated with rural sanitation and environmental cleanliness.
