This dataset contains India’s official indicator framework for tracking progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligned with the UN framework and tailored to national priorities.
The Sustainable Development Goals National Indicator Framework (NIF) Version 3.1 – 2021 and Version 2.1 - 2020, developed by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), serves as India’s comprehensive roadmap for monitoring progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This framework aligns with the UN SDG Global Indicator Framework, while incorporating national priorities and data availability. It includes hundreds of indicators across 17 SDGs, with clearly defined data sources, periodicity, and responsible ministries. The NIF enables evidence-based policymaking, inter-ministerial coordination, and transparent reporting on India’s development trajectory. It is a vital resource for analysts, researchers, and policymakers working on sustainability, governance, and inclusive growth.
