The Resource Material for Field Trainers on “Sujal and Swachh Gaon” is a comprehensive training resource for strengthening capacities around rural water, sanitation and hygiene services. It supports field trainers who work with Gram Panchayat leaders, Panchayat functionaries and Swachhagrahis. The material covers water supply and source sustainability, operation and maintenance, water quality, sanitation, ODF Plus, solid and liquid waste management, plastic waste, greywater, faecal sludge management, IEC and community mobilisation. It also includes guidance on sustaining outcomes through Swachhagrahis and on facilitating training programmes. The document provides practical assessment and planning formats, including water budgets, water tariff budgets, water-supply facility assessments, water-quality assessments, household and institutional ODF Plus assessments, sanitation walks, Gram Panchayat information sheets and indicative village action plans. It is intended to help field trainers deliver structured learning, support participatory planning and translate national water and sanitation goals into locally owned actions.
