About Dataset
This dataset presents product-wise and group-wise annual production figures of major chemicals in India, based on Monthly Production Returns (MPRs) submitted by manufacturers under large and medium-scale sectors. It includes categories such as alkali chemicals, inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals, and more. The data is maintained and published by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Figures are reported in metric tonnes and help track trends in industrial chemical output from 2008-09 onward. The dataset supports economic analysis, policy planning, and market evaluation within the Indian chemical sector.
