
The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), was launched by the Govt. of India to provide connectivity to unconnected Habitations as part of a poverty reduction strategy. Govt. of India is endeavoring to set high and uniform technical and management standards and facilitating policy development and planning at State level in order to ensure sustainable management of the rural roads network.
Road Identification Details: 1. Road Name/ID: Unique identifiers or names for each road project. 2. District/State: Geographic identifiers, often at the district or state level, helping in regional analysis. 3. Road Type/Category: Classification of roads (e.g., blacktop, gravel, etc.). Construction/Completion Status: 1. Construction Stage: Status of the road construction, such as "under construction," "completed," or "pending." 2. Start Date/End Date: Dates representing the project’s initiation and completion. 3. Completion Percentage: A numerical value indicating the percentage of completion of the road project. Financial Data: 1. Cost Estimates: Initial project cost, including estimates for material, labor, and overheads. 2. Expenditure: Actual funds spent on the project, useful for monitoring financial efficiency. 3. Funding Source: The type of funding, such as government grants, local contributions, etc. Technical Specifications: 1. Road Length: Distance covered by the road (in kilometers or miles). 2. Width/Width of Carriageway: The width of the road for vehicular movement. 3. Pavement Type/Surface: Type of pavement (e.g., bitumen, concrete). Bridges/Drainage: Whether the road includes any bridges or special drainage systems. Geographical and Environmental Data: 1. Latitude/Longitude: GPS coordinates to map the road locations. 2. Terrain Type: Classification based on the geographical conditions (e.g., hilly, plain). 3. Environmental Impact: Data on potential environmental concerns or mitigation strategies. Progress Reports: 1. Field Inspection Data: Reports from field inspections on road quality, construction progress, and delays. 2. Challenges/Issues: Log of issues faced during construction, such as land acquisition problems, weather conditions, or labor shortages. Beneficiary Data: 1. Rural Population Coverage: Number of villages or rural households benefiting from the road (as per 2011 census). 2. Impact Assessment: Indicators showing improvements in access to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets post-construction. Maintenance and Sustainability (e-Marg): 1. Maintenance Schedule: Dates and details for periodic maintenance work on roads. 2. Road Lifespan: Estimated lifespan of the road and its components.
