About Dataset
This dataset provides state and UT-wise data on the population of persons with disabilities (PwDs) as recorded in Census 2011. It covers disaggregation by type of disability including visual, hearing, speech, locomotor, mental illness, mental retardation, and other disabilities, along with gender-wise and rural/urban breakdowns. Sourced from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Registrar General of India, it supports analysis of disability prevalence, scheme targeting, and UDID coverage planning.
