About Dataset

The NCERT Dataset is a collection of educational content derived from NCERT textbooks for students in Grades 6 to 12. The dataset is intended for educational AI applications and supports question answering, summarization, and text generation tasks. It contains structured examples comprising topics, explanations, questions, answers, difficulty levels, student levels, question types, question complexity scores, prerequisite concepts, estimated completion time, subject labels, and grade information. This dataset was identified and facilitated for onboarding as part of the Dataset Onboarding Support Team (DOST) initiative led by CivicDataLab (CDL), partnering with the Gates Foundation in collaboration with BHASHINI. CivicDataLab provided support for dataset discovery, validation, metadata preparation and onboarding facilitation. All dataset ownership and intellectual property rights remain with the original author(s).
