The Hindi-language Greywater Management toolkit is intended to support field-level understanding of rural greywater management under SBM (G) Phase-II. It corresponds to the technical guidance on household and community interventions, technology selection, conveyance, treatment, operation and maintenance, and potential reuse of treated greywater.

About Dataset

This Hindi-language Greywater Management toolkit is intended to make rural greywater management guidance accessible to Hindi-speaking field functionaries and stakeholders. The corresponding English manual provides technical guidance for implementing greywater management under SBM (G) Phase-II and supports ODF Plus objectives. It covers household, cluster and community approaches and explains technology selection according to local conditions such as available space, soil, permeability, groundwater table, rainfall and settlement characteristics. The technical options include soak pits, leach pits, magic pits, kitchen gardens, community leach pits, waste stabilization ponds, constructed wetlands, Phytorid, DEWATS and soil bio-technology, along with closed drains and small-bore pipe systems for conveyance. The guidance also addresses technical feasibility, operation and maintenance, civil works and potential reuse. The Hindi edition can support orientation, training, communication and field implementation by Gram Panchayats and other stakeholders. It is particularly useful for translating technical concepts into practical rural-level greywater management actions.
