About Dataset

This structured time-series dataset presents detailed information on India's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) imports. It includes total imports from both long-term and spot contracts and reports LNG import quantities in Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) and Million Metric Standard Cubic Metres (MMSCM), along with import values in Million US Dollars. The dataset provides annual data for financial years from 2011–12 to 2025–26 and detailed monthly data from April to March for each financial year. Maintained by the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC), the dataset supports analysis of import trends, seasonal fluctuations, LNG procurement patterns, import expenditure, energy security, natural gas demand, and India's dependence on international LNG markets

The purpose of this dataset is to provide comprehensive information on India's imports of Liquefied Natural Gas through long-term and spot contracts.
