The February 2023 Jal Jeevan Survekshan 2023 Monthly Bulletin provides a structured assessment of district and State/UT performance under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Jal Jeevan Survekshan was launched in October 2022 to assess progress towards JJM objectives, encourage healthy competition and recognize the efforts of better-performing districts. The bulletin uses self-reporting through the JJM-IMIS portal and assessment of tap-connection functionality and ground truthing through an independent agency. Its performance framework covers physical progress, water-quality monitoring and surveillance, and institutional arrangements for assured water supply. Districts are grouped into performance categories based on household tap-water coverage, and the bulletins present rankings, fastest-moving districts, top-performing districts and districts graduating to higher categories. Depending on the edition, the bulletin also includes monthly or quarterly results, annexures and detailed district-level performance information.
