Jal Jeevan Samvad – June 2026 is the 69th edition of the National Jal Jeevan Mission’s publication, focusing on the transition under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 from infrastructure creation to reliable, sustainable and community-centred rural drinking-water service delivery. It covers FHTC progress, reform-linked MoUs, innovation, community governance, water quality and district-level best practices.

About Dataset

Jal Jeevan Samvad – June 2026 is the 69th edition of the publication of the National Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. The edition highlights the evolving phase of Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, with greater emphasis on reliable service delivery, sustainability, community ownership, innovation, evidence-based planning and institutional strengthening. The publication presents progressive and comparative Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) coverage as of 30 June 2026, along with the status of rural tap-water supply across India. A key feature is the signing of reform-linked MoUs with seven States and one Union Territory—Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Bihar and Puducherry—to promote sustainable, assured and citizen-centric rural drinking-water services through Gram Panchayat-led and community-centred governance. The edition also covers the 9th District Collectors’ Peyjal Samvad, the 8th Sujal Gram Samvad, the DDWS Innovation Challenge and R&D initiatives in water. District case studies from Yamunanagar, Sepahijala, Sivasagar, Ayodhya, Una and Dras/Kargil showcase approaches to source sustainability, water quality, operation and maintenance, digital monitoring, women’s participation and community-led water governance.

The Purpose Of This Edition Is To Document The Progress And Emerging Priorities Of Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, Highlight Reforms And Innovations In Rural Drinking-water Service Delivery, And Share District-level Experiences On Sustainability, Water Quality, Community Ownership, Technology, Operation And Maintenance, And Last-mile Delivery For Reliable And Resilient Rural Water Services.
