The General section presents the scope and coverage of published data, key macro-economic trends in the Petroleum and Natural Gas sector, selected Indian economic indicators, trends in the Indian petroleum industry, international petroleum statistics and petroleum energy consumption on calendar-year and financial-year bases. It also includes oil and gas production abroad. The Exploration – Crude Oil & Natural Gas section covers deep drilling rigs, wells and metreage drilled, exploratory and development drilling, well status, geological and geophysical survey achievements, drilling activities, oil fields, balance recoverable reserves and company-wise reserves.
