Indian Petroleum and Natural Gas Statistics 2008-09 presents detailed statistical information on India’s petroleum and natural gas sector, with historical data covering calendar and financial years up to 2008–09 and sectoral information available through 2009–10. The Exploration–Crude Oil and Natural Gas section covers area-wise deployment of deep drilling rigs, wells and metreage drilled by ONGC and OIL, exploratory and development drilling, well status, geological and geophysical surveys, basin-wise and state-wise drilling achievements, and oil and gas fields. It provides statistics on crude oil and natural gas reserves, company-wise and state-wise production, natural gas utilisation and industry-wise offtake. The Refining, Transportation and Marketing section covers petroleum refining capacity, refinery throughput and petroleum-product production, pipelines, tanker fleet, Indian tonnage, major-port petroleum traffic, railway movement, retail outlets, LPG distributors and consumers, CNG activities and green fuels. The Prices section includes wholesale price indices, international crude oil prices, crude oil and natural gas prices, subsidies, PDS SKO and domestic LPG support, price build-up, retail prices and dealer commissions. Consumption and Trade sections cover product-wise, sector-wise and state-wise consumption, imports, exports, trade balances, OPEC trade and FDI. Additional sections cover duties, royalties, manpower, energy, PSU expenditure and Eleventh Plan projections for demand, production, product availability and refinery capacity.
