Haridwar - Functionality Assessment 2022

District-level assessment report on functionality of household tap connections under Jal Jeevan Mission in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Covers water supply quantity, regularity, quality, and user satisfaction across sampled households and villages during 2022.

About Dataset

"This report presents the findings of the Functionality Assessment of Household Tap Connections (FHTC) conducted in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand under the National Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) during 2022. The assessment was carried out from February to April 2022 to evaluate the status and functionality of piped water supply connections provided to rural households. The study employed a cross-sectional research design with a systematic sampling methodology to select representative villages and households across the district. Multiple parameters were assessed including functionality status of tap connections, quantity of water supplied (measured in Litres per Capita per Day - LPCD), regularity of water supply, and potability of water received by households. Key findings include the proportion of fully functional, partially functional, and non-functional tap connections in the district. The report details the percentage of households receiving adequate quantity of water (above 55 LPCD), the regularity of supply as per schedule, and the quality of water in terms of residual chlorine levels and bacteriological contamination. The assessment also covers source sustainability at village level, water quality monitoring and surveillance mechanisms, and the overall status of JJM implementation in the district. Village-level data on water quality parameters including pH, turbidity, iron, nitrate, fluoride, arsenic, and total dissolved solids is presented in the annexures. Household perception on outcome indicators and user satisfaction levels are documented to provide insights into the community experience with the water supply services. The report serves as a valuable resource for evidence-based planning and monitoring of rural water supply interventions under JJM in Haridwar district."
