The Price Monitoring Cell (PMC) under the Department of Consumer Affairs collects and monitors daily and weekly wholesale prices of potatoes from 75 market centers across India, covering the North, West, East, South, and North-East regions. Although the quality and variety of potatoes can differ between centers, each center reports prices based on its standard "Fair Average Quality." This comprehensive data, collected over time, reflects minimum, maximum, and modal prices, helping to track price trends and market behavior for this essential commodity across the country.
