Clarifications on Calculation of Community Contribution under Jal Jeevan Mission clarifies the basis for calculating the community contribution payable for rural piped-water supply schemes under JJM
"This clarification note explains how the prescribed community contribution of 5% or 10% is to be calculated for a Piped Water Supply Scheme (PWS) under Jal Jeevan Mission. It states that the applicable percentage must be calculated only on the cost of in-village water-supply infrastructure, rather than on the entire scheme cost. The note refers to the Operational Guidelines for JJM and clarifies that only those infrastructure components specified for Single Village Schemes and Multi Village Schemes should be considered. Costs of components not included in the prescribed in-village infrastructure, such as greywater-management activities and operation and maintenance costs, may be excluded while assessing the community contribution. The same clarification also applies to retrofitting schemes. It further notes that JJM-IMIS data-entry formats are being simplified accordingly."
The Purpose Of The Document Is To Ensure Uniform, Transparent And Correct Calculation Of Community Contribution By States, Uts And Implementing Agencies. It Supports Community Ownership Of Rural Water-supply Schemes While Preventing Inclusion Of Ineligible Costs In The Contribution Amount.
