Assam Question Answer (QA) Dataset is a comprehensive collection of data about Assam, covering multiple aspects including history, geography, culture, tourism, administration, education, economy, wildlife, literature, and more. The dataset has been categorized across the following domains: History (इतिहास – 120 pairs): Chronicles Assam's rich historical legacy, covering the ancient kingdoms of Kamarupa and the Ahom dynasty, the Koch kingdom, the Treaty of Yandabo, the freedom movement, notable rulers such as Lachit Borphukan and Sukaphaa, the Vaishnavite movement led by Srimanta Sankardeva, and other significant historical events and personalities. Geography (भूगोल – 115 pairs): Maps the physical landscape of Assam, emphasizing its geographical location, total area, international and interstate boundaries, major rivers including the Brahmaputra and Barak, islands such as Majuli, mountain ranges, climate, physiographic regions, and district-level geographical features. Tourism (पर्यटन – 100 pairs): Highlights Assam's major tourist attractions and heritage destinations, including Kaziranga National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Manas National Park, Majuli River Island, Kamakhya Temple, Sivasagar monuments, Haflong, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, tea gardens, and other religious, cultural, and eco-tourism destinations. Culture (संस्कृति – 100 pairs): Showcases Assam's vibrant cultural heritage through festivals such as Rongali, Bhogali, and Kongali Bihu, Sattriya dance, Borgeet, traditional attire including Mekhela Chador and Gamosa, handicrafts, weaving traditions, cuisine, fairs, and indigenous customs of various ethnic communities. Literature (साहित्य – 80 pairs): Documents the literary heritage of Assam by covering eminent writers and poets such as Lakshminath Bezbaroa, Hemchandra Barua, Birendra Kumar Bhattacharya, Homen Borgohain, and Dr. Mamoni Raisom Goswami (Indira Goswami), along with Assamese language, literature, and major literary works. Education (शिक्षा – 80 pairs): Covers Assam's educational infrastructure, including Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Assam University, Cotton University, IIT Guwahati, Tezpur University, Assam Agricultural University, research institutions, and the state's educational development. Economy (अर्थव्यवस्था – 80 pairs): Focuses on Assam's economy, highlighting tea production, petroleum and natural gas, agriculture, horticulture, silk production, fisheries, industries, handicrafts, trade, and major economic sectors contributing to the state's growth. Administration (प्रशासन – 80 pairs): Covers Assam's administrative framework, including the Governor, Chief Minister, Assam Legislative Assembly, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha representation, districts, administrative divisions, Panchayati Raj institutions, constitutional provisions, and governance mechanisms. Wildlife and Environment (वन्यजीव और पर्यावरण – 78 pairs): Details Assam's exceptional biodiversity, including Kaziranga, Manas, Nameri, Orang, Dibru-Saikhowa, Dehing Patkai, Raimona, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, one-horned rhinoceros conservation, elephants, tigers, wetlands, forests, and environmental conservation initiatives. Sports (खेलकूद – 62 pairs): Highlights sports and sporting culture in Assam, covering major stadiums, indigenous sports, football, cricket, athletics, notable sportspersons such as Hima Das and Lovlina Borgohain, and achievements at national and international levels. General Knowledge (सामान्य ज्ञान – 53 pairs): Provides concise factual information on Assam's state symbols, official language, demographic features, important state facts, awards, institutions, historical firsts, and miscellaneous knowledge complementing the broader subject areas. Agriculture (कृषि – 16 pairs): Covers Assam's agricultural profile, including major crops such as rice, tea, jute, mustard, sugarcane, horticulture, agricultural practices, important producing districts, and allied activities. Science and Technology (विज्ञान और तकनीक – 15 pairs): Includes questions on scientific institutions, technology parks, research organizations, innovation initiatives, space and environmental research, and science-related developments in Assam.
