This AI-enabled system is designed to strengthen access to justice by combining secure reporting tools with automated evidence analysis. At its core, the platform provides a confidential reporting interface where survivors can safely document incidents, upload digital evidence, and record contextual information. Anonymous or pseudonymous reporting mechanisms can lower the barriers that prevent survivors from coming forward, especially in cases where fear of exposure or retaliation discourages formal complaints. Digital reporting platforms have previously been used to collect survivor narratives and help identify patterns of harassment at scale, amplifying individual voices while supporting broader societal responses.
Once a report is submitted, the system uses natural language processing (NLP) to analyze chat logs, emails, and social media messages. Machine learning models can detect patterns of abusive language, threats, coercion, or cyberbullying within large volumes of text. Such AI-based harassment detection systems have been shown to effectively identify offensive or harmful content online and classify incidents of cyberbullying or harassment, helping platforms and investigators recognize harmful behavior more quickly. By automatically structuring and summarizing these interactions, the system helps investigators focus on relevant evidence rather than manually reviewing thousands of messages.
The platform also addresses a growing challenge in digital abuse: manipulated or synthetic media. Advances in generative AI have made it easier to create deepfakes and non-consensual synthetic imagery, which are increasingly used to harass or intimidate victims online. Deepfake detection algorithms can analyze images and videos to identify signs of manipulation, helping verify whether digital evidence is authentic before it is used in legal proceedings. Such verification tools are becoming essential as synthetic media threatens the credibility of digital evidence in courts.
Another key feature of the system is its focus on preserving evidence through digital forensic standards. Proper evidence management is critical because courts require a documented “chain of custody” showing how digital evidence was collected, stored, and handled throughout the investigation. Maintaining this traceability helps ensure the authenticity and admissibility of evidence during prosecution. By securely storing files, generating cryptographic hashes, and maintaining detailed access logs, the platform supports legally compliant evidence preservation.
Ultimately, the system aims to move beyond simple reporting tools toward a comprehensive digital justice infrastructure. By integrating secure reporting, AI-based harassment detection, deepfake verification, and forensic evidence management, the platform provides prosecutors and investigators with clearer, structured evidence. This approach can improve the likelihood that cases of online harassment and abuse are taken seriously, investigated effectively, and lead to meaningful legal remedies for survivors.
